This task was envisioned by Tim Myers, Sonny Malone, Jason Summers, and Gary Conger immediately after the World Trade Center disaster. It was observed by these four men, that none of them could go to New York and help. It was presented by Tim Myers that the only way he could get there was by horseback.

The die was cast and all four members elected to ride there in support of our fellow Americans and at the same time link together the pain from The Oklahoma City Bombing to the pain of the terrorism in New York.

The message must be clear "The grass roots citizens of America support you in your time of need and we are here for you..."
Howdy folks, my name is Tim Myers, President of the Oklahoma Western Heritage, Inc. I would like this opportunity to share with you the stirring of emotions I have been dealing with since Sept. 11th, 2001. Since the attacks on America, with the tremendous loss of life and devastating destruction of the Twin Towers, which stood as great symbols of America, I was moved by the spirit of our western ancestors, to show the world that the roots of this great country run very deep. I felt the spirit of our great ancestors stir up the dust of ghost riders from the great 101 Ranch, the Cherokee Strip, Pawnee Bill, along with other Oklahoma Oilmen and Ranchers. The great Indian Nation and the range riding cowboys are the roots of this great state and I'm proud to call Oklahoma my home and heritage.

The good Lord has moved me in such a way, that he has urged me to put together a good bunch of people with the same heartfelt convictions for the victims and families of this horrible terrorist attack. These folks are dedicated individuals with gracious hearts, and the grit and determination of true Oklahoma Sooner. Oklahoma Western Heritage, Inc. has put together a relief program called "RIDE-4-AMERICA". These dedicated people along with our gracious sponsors will be supporting four horseback riders traveling from the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building site in OKC, to the site of the Twin Towers in NYC.

The OWHI riders will represent the heritage of Oklahoma, Sonny Malone, a direct descendent of Chief White Hair of the Osage nation will be representing our great Indian Nation, Gary Conger, a Claremore Firefighter will ride for all the fireman across this great nation. Jason Summers of Claremore, OK and myself will be riding for the brands of all our ranchers and farmers as well as city employees, welders, steel workers, truck drivers, and anyone that considers themselves an American.

We (the riders) will be at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building ceremony at 9:00am on April 19th 2002 to pay our respects to the Murrah Building victims. At 10:00am we will go to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum (formerly Cowboy Hall of Fame) where we will have a RIDE-4-AMERICA ceremony. At 11:00am we will start our ride across the nation to the site of the Twin Towers in New York City. We will journey for 5 months in order to make it to NYC for the 1 year anniversary of this horrific attack on humanity. Along the way we will be gathering relief funds to set up a scholarship fund for the children and victims of such terrorist attacks.

The "Ride 4 America" will be promoting our western heritage in towns and cities across the nation and educating children about the roots of our freedom. I'm very confident the people of this great nation will support this endeavor in every way possible. It is my sincere desire that the American Cowboy and our great ancestors not become forgotten, but the cowboy legacy be remembered as true Americans with heavy hearts and helping hands. The Oklahoma Western Heritage Inc. has adopted this mission and we hope that we can count on your support in this great ride representing America "From Liberty's View".
